The objective of an S/4HANA Migration project should always be to create a sustainable digital core for your company. Transferring your company to S/4HANA can be done in various ways from a System Conversion, which provides SAP Business Suite setup to SAP S/4HANA, to a complete Greenfield approach (implementation from scratch).  An approach often used is Landscape Transformation. This is the consolidation of a current SAP software landscape and selective data transformation, into one global SAP S/4HANA software system.

Modernize your SAP data warehouse
Businesses are often faced with the challenge of combining multi-structured information from different sources into one location so it can be evaluated. Today, large quantities of data are often found through Open-Source and No-SQL architectures, such as Hadoop, in the so-called data lake and is usually quite difficult to bring into the context of the company.

SAP BW/4HANA can make this process easier by automating complex data flows using the new, simplified Business Warehouse model. Openness has always been an issue in SAP BW, so it’s great to see that openness to Hadoop specifically is one element that many customers requested as the implementation of data lakes and big data platforms based on Hadoop has become more prevalent. The integration between SAP BW/4HANA and the SAP HANA platform also allows for direct SQL consumption of SAP BW/4HANA data via generated SQL views. 

SAP BW/4HANA is new software, not just a continuation of the SAP BW. To move to SAP BW/4HANA will require more than just a system upgrade, as a lot of legacy SAP BW functionality is no longer available in SAP BW/4HANA. The move from BW to BW/4 is seen as a migration project which includes an initial analysis to understand what can be migrated as it is, and what objects need to be converted into a type respecting the new design principles of SAP BW/4. As experts in BW and BW/4 we’re able to make this transition as seamless as possible.
